VPLS delivers enterprise-grade Backup-as-a-Service (BaaS) and Disaster Recovery-as-a-Service (DRaaS) solutions — including secure cloud backup storage and reliable offsite data replication.
Many enterprises still use tape backup services with a Recovery Time Objective (RTO) of over 72 hours. With Krypt, the RTO can be reduced to 4 hours with a Recovery Point Objective (RPO) of 1 hour.
Krypt Disaster Recovery in a Box (DRIB) is an on-premise backup solution that sits on the enterprise customer’s local network, takes local backups, and replicates a copy of the backup to the Krypt cloud. Backups can be scheduled as frequently as 1 hour (bandwidth permitting), with a retention policy that can be customized depending on your backup storage allocation. DRIB provides two levels of resiliency where virtual machines can be brought up on the local appliance in the event of your on-premise server failures as well as in a disaster scenario. In that situation, your site is completely offline and your virtual machines can be spun up online in Krypt’s hybrid cloud powered by VMware vCloud technology.
