DATA CENTER INFORMATION

VPLS has partnered with ACS, a Xerox company, and the Orange County Data Center to offer customers the most state of the art facility in Southern California. This facility was designed with safety, security, fire resistance, and weather protection in mind.

Boasting over 65,000 square feet of raised, ventilated flooring and other amenities, our fully redundant facility was designed to be safe and secure. Running out of drive space? Just call or email our technicians and we can add extra hard drive space almost instantly. Like our downtown Los Angeles data center, our Santa Ana data center is manned 24 hours a day/7 days a week.

UTILITY POWER

The Orange County Data Center receives a direct 22,000 volt power feed to its three Square D Transformers of which it is fed to 480 batteries that prevent lapses between the feed and facility.

The UPS can protect sensitive operations or entire facilities from voltage aberrations and outages. IGBTs (Insulated Gate Bipolar Transistors) are combined with Pulse Width Modulation/Stepwave topology to provide reliable Operation. ACS uses Site Scan to update the command center on the status of power, air handler, and UPS energy consumption.

BACK-UP POWER & GENERATOR

Equipped with dual mission-critical 1000kVA redundant Uninterruptible Power Sources backed by 488 C &D flooded wet cell batteries. 2950 kilowatt Caterpillar Diesel Generator available within eight seconds in a power failure UPS protects entire facility from voltage aberrations and outages. The batteries can keep the facility running long enough to restore the feed or until the backup generator is turned on. Facility is equipped with a 12,500 gallon underground storage tank of diesel fuel. Enough power to conduct business for four days without feed from Southern California Edison.

SECURITY & PROTECTION FEATURES

The Orange County Data Center provides 24-hour security. The exterior of the building is monitored by highly sensitive and state of the art microwave beams. Any intrusion of the beams is acknowledged by a site scan monitoring system that indicates who, what, and where the intrusion occurred and is recorded by any of the nineteen interior or exterior surveillance cameras. The Data Center operates a 24-hour 7-day a week work force.
