DATA CENTER INFORMATION
In order to branch out and provide more options for our customers, VPLS has partnered with DuPont Fabros to offer hosting from our very first east coast data center. This expansion allows our customers to now choose if they would prefer their server’s location on the east or west coast of the United States.
Our Ashburn, VA data center is one of the largest data centers in the United States, boasting 360,000 square feet. Of that square footage, 176,200 square feet is a raised floor area perfect for our server requirements.
UTILITY POWER
Our Ashburn facility has a utility power of 34.5 kV being fed to our raised floor cabinets.
The N+2 redundancy equipped UPS systems ensure our customer’s data and servers are protected durning sensitive operations or from voltage aberrations and outages.
BACK-UP POWER & GENERATOR
In the event of a power failure, the Ashburn data center comes stocked with 32 rotary power systems outputting 1,300 kW each. Paired with those systems are 32 diesel-powered engine generators with 2,250 kW capacity each and four 50,000 gallon underground diesel storage tanks to keep the electricity flowing smoothly.
SECURITY & PROTECTION FEATURES
As always, we make sure the facilities have top of the line security. Our Ashburn data center is no different, equipped with ballistic glass enclosed security check-in process and 24/7 CCTV surveillance system keeping a watchful eye on both the outside and inside of the facility. With the data center staffed 24/7 and entry ways requiring either electronic card key access or equipped with dual authentication biometric readers, our customers servers and data is safe.
